Cora Key Returns To Clay Co As New Ag Ex Agent

Clay County has a new Ag Extension Agent in charge of the county’s 4-H programs.

Agent Cora Key said accepting the position means she gets to return home after furthering her education in Knoxville.

“That means I work directly hands-on with the youth of our community,” Key said. “I go to schools where I provide assistance and aid to our teachers and help the kids learn more about not only agricultural and family and consumer sciences as well as holding contests and clinics.”

Key said she already has new programs for local youth to participate. Key said anything from poster contests, a junior fair board and livestock judging. Key said her goal is to further a child’s education outside classroom knowledge.

“I’ve been away for about five or six years,” Key said. “Getting this position and getting to return home means a lot to me. It allows for me to give back to the community that gave so much to me growing up.”
