LA Senior Creed Pierce Nominated As Presidential Scholars Program Candidate


Livingston Academy senior Creed Pierce was nominated as a candidate to represent Tennessee in the Presidential Scholars Program.

The program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Pierce said that it’s an honor and blessing that his hard work has been recognized.

“Just working every year since I was little,” Pierce said. “Just putting time into school, studying for everything, just working hard all the time.”

Pierce said that he is still deciding on where to attend college. He said that he looking to major in finance.

Director of Schools Donnie Holman said that Pierce has shown exemplary behavior in both academics and extra-curricular involvement. He said that Pierce is the president of the LA senior class, has a 4.29 GPA, scored a 33 on the ACT, and has completed some of the most demanding courses at Livingston Academy.

“I’ve always been really proud of Creed,” Holman said. “I’ve known him since Kindergarten and today is no different. I’m proud of him again.”

Holman said that each year two students are selected to represent the state in addition to 15 at-large students. He said that these will be selected in May.
