Putnam County building permits set a new record for February 2022.
County Mayor Randy Porter said that February is typically one of, if not the slowest months in the year. However, February numbers showed 39 permits for $7.9 million, with 27 of those being new single-family residential homes. He said that February 2021 saw 14 permits for $1.8 million, with 10 being new homes.
Porter said that these numbers are for the county only and do not include the four cities.
