Cookeville Breaks Sales Tax Record In December 2021


Cookeville has reached an historic high for sales tax collections exceeding $4 million for the first time in history.

In December 2021, some $4,235,000 were collected, a 6.5 percent increase compared to December 2020, according to Cookeville City Manager James Mills.

More than $2 million of the sales tax was given to the Putnam County School System. So far this fiscal year, over $25 million has been generated in Cookeville.
