Baxter Seeking To Upgrade Valley Point Pump Station

City of Baxter will start the process to upgrade the Valley Point Pump Station.

Water Superintendant John Ramsey said that the pump station was originally built about a decade ago for the ten homes in the subdivision. He said that in its current state, it will be unable to take on the incoming development.

“The pump station needs to be upgraded to be larger in size,” Ramsey said. “To handle what will be flowing into it from that new development once it takes place.”

Ramsey said the next steps will be going through the permitting and design phase. He said that once TDEC approves the changes, City Engineer Tom Bennett can continue in the upgrading process.
