Wind Damage Closes Crossville’s Palace Theatre And Nearby Street

Crossville’s Palace Theatre closed until further notice after a high wind gust caused damage to the building’s southern wall Wednesday.

City Mayor James Mayberry said about two feet of brick was pushed inward and collapsed. Mayberry said the wall is higher than the roof, so the brick fell onto the building.

Mayberry said the full extent of structural damage is unknown at this time. As a precaution, city officials closed West First Street from Main Street to West Avenue.
