A Fentress County landowner donated a parcel of land to the standalone ER project.

County Executive Jimmy Johnson said that the half-acre of land will be used as the parking lot of the facility.

“They had some more land that they weren’t going to be using I believe,” Johnson said. “So they gifted that to us and we’re very grateful because we’re going to need some parking space and they saw the need and they just gifted it to us and we’re very appreciative.”

Johnson said that UT Med has already begun the process of restructuring the building. He said that crews are working to create six examination rooms, diagnostic and x-ray rooms.

Johnson said that UT Med decided to get a head start on ordering necessary materials to avoid supply chain delays. He said that they are still looking to have the facility ready by September.
