Robinson To Ask White Commission For Funds To Move Forward With TDEC ARP Grants

White County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said he will ask the county commission Monday to appropriate the needed match for TDEC’s ARP money.

The county has about $5 million to allocate among utility districts. Robinson said the ask will be about $620,000 to $650,000.

“I’ll be asking the county commission coming up Monday night to appropriate that match money to get that $5 million locked in,” Robinson said. “That way at that point, I’ll be able to go to the utility districts and give them a set amount of money and say we got this to spend, let’s see what your plan is.”

Robinson said the match would come from the county’s ARP funding. Robinson said most utility districts have completed scorecards to rank the projects. Robinson said if the match is approved Monday, he will ask the utility districts to present the scorecards to later share with the county commission.

“Then I will go and start making appointments to meet with the board and directors of the different utility districts and present them my plan to move this forward,” Robinson said. “I’m encouraging them to be creative.”

Robinson said at this time, he does not have an idea as to what projects will happen.
