Crossville Approves Engineering Services For Little Obed River Pedestrian Bridge

City of Crossville approved engineering services to design a pedestrian bridge over Little Obed River.

Crossville Engineering Department’s Don Cole said that the bridge would be located on Industrial Boulevard near Upland Design Group.

“We’re going to be crossing the Little Obed River to get to the trail over on the north side of the Little Obed in there,” Cole said. And then we’ll work a trail of greenway along the Interstate Drive back towards Centennial (Park).”

Cole said that the work would tie up the Centennial Park greenway across the pedestrian bridge to the north side of the Little Obed River. He said that the greenway would extend to Old Jamestown Highway.

The contract for engineering services sits at some $32,800. City Manager Greg Wood said the work for the bridge itself would be substantially covered if the city is awarded the CDBG grant for greenway work.
