Live In Livingston Opening Performance This Sunday

Livingston Mayor Curtis Hayes said this weekend’s Live in Livingston kick off performance means more than just entertainment for residents.

Hayes said the three-part concert series is all about showcasing the downtown area.

“We don’t have an empty store front anywhere downtown,” Hayes said. “We have got open building permits where folks are investing downtown. It’s just a great growing place.”

Three shows are scheduled through June with Collin Raye performing Sunday. Hayes said the free concert begins at 6:00 p.m. at Central Park. Hayes said bring a lawn chair and enjoy what the city has to offer.

“We have a state of the art park,” Hayes said. “One we’ve invested over $2.5 million in it. It’s about four-years old now but the city works hard to keep it in shape. Certainly join hands with the Rotary Club since they built the main stage. We have a splash pad, walking path and exercise equipment throughout the park, but the main thing you can bring your lawn chair. We can sit comfortably about 1,800-1,900 folks.”

Hayes said a partnership of the Downtown Revitalization, Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Aldermen make the series happen.

“We hope you come and maybe grab a pizza or go over to the Coop or other restaurants in Livingston and have a good family time,” Hayes said.
