Baxter Seeking Sponsors For Spring Festival

Baxter is looking for sponsors for its first-ever Spring Festival on Saturday, June 11th.

Friends of the Baxter Depot Member Jeanie Lee said that sponsorship proceeds will go towards work on the town’s new caboose. The City of Cookeville donated the car to Baxter last year.

“You know we’re thrilled to have it but we would love to paint it that beautiful fire engine red down the road,” Lee said. “So this is one way we can accomplish this.”

Lee said that the work will cost some $8,000. She said that amount will cover paint and labor for painting.

Lee said that not only does the Spring Festival provide a fundraising opportunity, but it also serves as a way to bring the community together.

“We will have that combined with live music, karaoke, craft and food vendors, we will have food inside the depot, we will have a car show,” Lee said.

Lee said that they will also be highlighting local businesses, like American Farmhouse. She said that they have over 100 items as part of a cakewalk.

Lee said for those interested in being vendors, you can contact Amy Allen at (931) 319-6070. She said that sponsors can contact members at the Friends of the Depot through the group’s page on Facebook.
