Putnam County Commissioner Jimmy Neal has resigned his seat as District 9 Commissioner.
Neal shared his resignation in a letter to Mayor Randy Porter Thursday. Neal wrote that he has also withdrawn his name as a candidate on the August ballot.
Neal said he does not intend to serve as commissioner if re-elected.
