Power of Putnam has completed its alcoholic beverage compliance check with just three Cookeville clerks selling alcohol to underage buyers.
The survey of 38 checks with six businesses was designed to stop illegal alcohol usage by teens. Working with plainclothes officers, underage youths entered these businesses and attempted to illegally purchase alcoholic beverages.
The three cases of clerks selling to minors were referred to Putnam County General Sessions Court for appropriate action.
