Fentress Roads Back Open Following Storm Damage

Fentress County roads are back open following Thursday morning’s weather.

County Executive Jimmy Johnson said that compared to 3,300 people without power early this morning, just about 100 customers are still without power as of 2 p.m. He said that debris was cleared from the roadways and that Jamestown’s maintenance crew will work to clear it from the side of the road.

White County sustained only minor storm damage. EMA Director Matt McBride said there was minor tree damage and debris in the road, but it was clear by 8:30 this morning.

McBride said there was one instance of lightning they believe to have caused a small fire in the county, but the cause is still under investigation.
