Putnam Homicide Investigation Locates Individual Wanted For Questioning

An individual wanted for questioning in a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office homicide investigation has been located.

Amanda Borden turned herself into the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night on outstanding warrants. Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris said Borden has been cooperating with the homicide investigation.

“All the evidence shows that it very well could have possibly been a self-defense-type shooting,” Farris said. “We have not ruled anything out as of right now. We are still collecting all the evidence and all the facts.”

Farris said Borden currently has a bond set for $6,250 for her outstanding warrants. He said the outstanding warrants in Juvenile and General Sessions Court were for misdemeanor situations, such as not showing up in court or not paying a fine.

Farris said they are still investigating the homicide and will sit down with the Attorney General’s Office and District Attorney Bryant Dunaway to decide if any additional charges will be necessary.
