Incumbent Sheriffs Enjoyed Success In Polls Across UC


Incumbent sheriffs enjoyed success in the polls around the Upper Cumberland on Thursday.

Van Buren County will be represented by new leadership with Michael Brock. Brock defeated Mark Evans, with Brock receiving 1,393 votes. Evans tallied 685 votes.

Marty Hinson in Jackson County beat out Chris Carter and Brad Stafford in Jackson County with 55 percent of the vote. Carter, a County Commissioner, finished with 27 percent.

Michael Reagon defeated three Fentress County opponents, taking 37 percent of the vote. Gary “Goose” Ledbetter finished with 34 percent.

Sheriff Brandon Boone will serve another term taking 70.3 percent of the vote. Boone defeated Jeff Gentry Thursday night.

Casey Cox in Cumberland County, Pickett County’s Dana Dowdy, Eddie Farris in Putnam County, John Garrett in Overton County, and Steve Page in White County ran unopposed.
