Jackson County Chamber Awarded Tourism And Hospitality Recovery Funds

The Jackson County Chamber announced as a recipient of Tennessee Tourism Recovery Funds.

The state started the Tennessee Tourism CARES program to help the tourism and hospitality industries impacted by COVID-19. Chamber Director Hope Vargas said they were awarded some $47,500 to use over the next three years.

“And I’m not entirely sure of the eligibility requirements or the details of how the funds are to be used,” Vargas said. “But we’ve been told that more details are coming, and we’re just really excited to receive the help and we’re excited to see what we can roll out with that.”

Jackson County’s funding was just a portion of the $15 million spread throughout all 95 counties in Tennessee. Vargas said she will attend seminars over the next few months to get guidance on how to spend the money.
