Cookeville Leisure Services’ Dogapalooza To Be At New Dog Park

Cookeville Leisure Services’ annual Dogapalooza wil be moved to the new Cane Creek Dog Park.

The event has been held at Dogwood Park since the park opened. Recreation Superintendant Cara Sheets said the event is for dog owners and dog lovers alike.

“I know a lot of may not get acclimated with other dogs so it’s a good time for them, but it’s a good social event,” Sheets said. “We have a lot of folks who come that don’t even have dogs. So they just come because maybe they live somewhere that doesn’t allow dogs, or maybe there’s an allergy in the family, so they get to come and enjoy the day as well.”

The free event is set for Saturday, September 24th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sheets said the department wanted to make the event fun not only for the animals but their owners as well.

Dogapalooza kicks off with a pet parade, and will feature various food vendors, dog-related activities, a pet salon, and adoptable dogs.
