The Putnam County Democratic Party selected Barbara Myers to be the nominee for the 9th district county commission seat.
Myers was recruited by a member of the Candidate Recruitment Committee to be the nominee. Her name was then presented to the full Executive Committee to be selected as the Democratic nominee by electronic vote due to the monthly meeting being after the deadline.
She was voted unanimously by the Executive Committee to be the Democratic nominee. No other candidates were considered.
Myers will face Republican Candidate Robert Riddle in the November Election. The seat was left vacant by former Commissioner Jimmy Neal.
