Putnam Improving Cookeville Community Center Through Roofing And Painting Project

The Cookeville Community Center getting a new look thanks to some capital projects.

Putnam County Parks and Recreation Director John Ross Albertson said the classic red brick and green roof people know will soon be mostly gray after a roofing and painting project.

“We were having quite a few leaks, and it had been something that’s been on our radar and on our maintenance department’s radar for a few years now,” Albertson said. “It worked its way through capital projects in order to be replaced through the five-year plan and now it’s time.”

Albertson said all that remains with the roof is the final metal installation. Albertson during that time, county employees have removed the landscaping around the building to repaint the brick. Albertson once completed, new landscaping, lighting and signage will conclude the project.

Albertson said he did not have a timeline as to when the project would be completed.
