The Upper Cumberland Air Fair returns to the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport this weekend.
Airport Manager Dean Selby said the event serves as a way to bring folks to the airport who wouldn’t otherwise get to see it. He said not only is it a fun community event, it also acts as advertising for the airport.
“I think it’s important to create that buy-in from the community as we grow,” Selby said. “To show just exactly what we do and what we’re capable of here.
Selby said last year’s Air Fair was the first time the airport hosted the event. He said volunteers learned a lot, including what worked and what didn’t.
Selby said visitors to this year’s Air Fair can expect the same fun from last year, including a 5k, food vendors, and aircraft rides. He said this year will also feature airshows and more opportunities to ride in hot air balloons.
