This Week Overton BOE Reviews Maintenance Projects, Spencer Aldermen Discuss Water System


This week in the Upper Cumberland the Cookeville Planning Commission will consider final action on the third phase of a large subdivision off Shag Rag Road Monday.

The next phase includes 81-lots at the Reserve at the Country Club. The commission will also consider a road dedication submitted by Highlands Residential Services. The housing authority asks for the city to take over its road at its Buffalo Valley housing sites.

An amendment to the zoning codes to make gates optional for dumpster details will also be considered. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.

The Jackson County Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Tuesday, the Overton County Board of Education will host a work session to plan out its maintenance projects. Members will review the needs at each school and decide if the work could be conducted in-house. Discussion begins at 6:00 p.m. at Central Office.

Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s Planning and Finance Committee will review agenda items Tuesday evening in preparation for its Thursday Board meeting. The work session begins at 4:30 p.m. with the Trustees meeting at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

The Spencer Board of Aldermen meets Thursday to discuss the future of its water system. The city has formally requested for the Warren County Utility District to take over operations. Business starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
