Overton Co Executive Wants To Bring A Grocery Store To Hanging Limb

Overton County Executive Steven Barlow said he is exploring land options to hopefully recruit a grocery store to the Hanging Limb area.

“It is as much as 14 miles to the closest grocery store up there,” Barlow said. “We are looking into trying to help the citizens there for them to be able to go and buy their own groceries.”

Barlow said while speaking with locals, they expressed that they want a grocery store in the area. Barlow said the majority of Hanging Limb residents travel out-of-county to grocery shop.

Barlow said the effort is not official, but it is something that he has dedicated his time to. Barlow said at this time, he has only received price estimates for land.
