Riddle Wins Putnam Commission Race, Sanders Elected Register Of Deeds


Putnam County Republican Candidate Robert Riddle has won the District Nine Commission seat in a three-person race.

Riddle received 1,240 votes. Democratic Candidate Barbara Myers got 302 votes, and Tim Terry running as an Independent Candidate tallied 163 votes.

He fills a vacant seat left by previous Commissioner Jimmy Neal.

As for the Register of Deeds race, Republican Candidate John Sanders received 53.87 percent of the vote to win the race. Saunders received 10,244 votes. Independent Candidate Jennifer Holloway Flatt came in second with 3,968 votes.

Democratic Candidate Tim “Tree” McPherson got 3,188 votes.
