Sherrell, Bailey And Hale Win State House And Senate Races


State Representative Paul Sherrell set for another term after receiving over 75 percent of the vote.

Unofficial results show that Sherrell defeated Democratic Candidate Cheryl Womack Uselton. Sherrell received 11,851 votes against Uselton’s 3,401. Sherrell represents District 43, which includes White, Grundy and part of Warren Counties.

State Senator Paul Bailey ran unopposed in this election. Bailey received over 45,000 votes.

Michael Hale the new State Representative of the 40th District.

Hale easily defeated Democratic Challenger Tom Cook with over 80 percent of the vote. Hale will serve Cannon, DeKalb, Jackson, Smith and Wilson Counties.
