Algood Fire Chief and Public Works Director Victor Jones charged with aggravated sexual battery against a victim less than 13-years-old Thursday.
According to a release from District Attorney Bryant Dunaway, investigators with the Cookeville Police Department began looking into allegations of sexual misconduct in September 2022. As the investigation progression, sufficient information was learned to charge 61-year-old Jones.
Jones was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing.
The DA’s office is asking if the public is aware of any other potential victims of similar abuse by Jones, to please contact the Office of the District Attorney General at 931-528-5015 or the Cookeville Police Department at 931-526-2125.
