State Supreme Court Denies Appeal Of Fentress Man Convicted Of Rape

The State Supreme Court refused to hear the case of a Fentress County man convicted on charges of the rape of a child and incest.

Ronnie Lee Clayborn was set to serve 27 years for the rape of a child and incest. Clayborn challenged the ruling on eight counts, including that the State failed to present sufficient evidence to support his convictions beyond a reasonable doubt and that the trial court committed plain error by the admission of prior uncharged sex crimes to bolster the victim’s testimony.
