Baxter FD Using Grant Funding To Help Department And City


Baxter Fire Department moving forward with two grants that will help the department’s operations.

Chief Matthew White said one grant is for some $5,000 through Twin Lakes.

“For purchasing an air pack, and SCBA for us to wear,” White said. “We have one that’s currently down and we need to put that back into service.”

White said the department also received a conservation grant through Public Entity Partners. He said the $2,500 matching grant will be used to help the city protect itself and the public.

White said the funding will be used to put up fencing around the water department as well as repair fencing throughout the city. He said they can also use the money to put up lighting in the city’s park.
