UC Fairest Of The Fair Local Winners Compete For State Crown

The Upper Cumberland’s fairest of the fair winners competed for the state crown in Murfreesboro Friday evening.

Overton County Fairest of the Fair Alexis Phipps said she is excited to show others what the county has to offer.

“It’s an awesome feeling,” Phipps said. “Overton County is such a special place to me, and the fact I get to be here and represent them, it is just very special to me. I want to do it in the best way possible that I can.”

Local winners arrived to the weekend long convention Thursday. Clay County Fairest of the Fair Aliyah Kingery said the experience so far has been fun meeting other winners from across the state.

“I’m so proud to represent Clay County,” Kingery said. “Although I was not born and raised here, it’s become my home and I love it and I would not change it for the world. I’m so honored to be chosen, and I feel like I am going to represent them well.”

The pageant begins at 6:00 p.m. with the winner selected Friday. Putnam County’s Addison Bray and Van Buren County’s Jessica Sexton also in attendance.
