McMinnville’s New Armory Progressing As Planned For Summer Completion

The new National Guard Armory in McMinnville progressing as the state aims to open the new the facility this fall.

Warren County Executive Terry Bell said the state’s latest report to the county commission has the project being completed in June or July.

“They are really progressing, “Bell said. “If you pass by the highway, you can see that they are moving really good with the project. I got a chance to tour it a couple of months ago, and they are really moving along fast.”

Bell said walls have been erected as contractors work to get the building in the dry. Bell said the next step would be to complete the inside. Bell said the readiness center will include several classroom spaces, training rooms and ample storage space.

The state broke ground on the 33,000 square foot facility about a year ago. Bell said the new building is much needed since the existing armory was more than 60-years-old. The space will be used to ready trainees as well as a community event space.

The center is located along Manchester Highway between McMinnville and Morrison.
