Jackson County Schools approved its calendar for the next school year.
Director of Schools Kristy Brown said each year, the calendar is created by the calendar committee. She said it is made up of two teachers from each school and one principal that rotates each committee.
“It’s in our policy that if the calendar committee submits a proposed calendar that meets all of the guidelines with the state with the number of days and doesn’t interfere with any testing schedules or anything like that, that the board approves it,” Brown said. “So this came from our school calendar committee and I feel like it’s a good one.”
Brown said the first full day of school is set for Friday, August 4th. The last day of school will be on Friday, May 17th.
Fall Break runs from October 9th through the 13th. Spring Break will be from March 11th through the 15th.
