New Football Coach Matthan Houser said the new facility came in part with LA’s football stadium remodeling project. He said the all-sports weight room facility has doubled the pieces of equipment it uses and better accommodates 40 to 45 students.

“We were lifting in a much smaller room, much smaller space to get our weights and things like that so this has opened up and increased our ability to create and have workouts,” Houser said. “It’s been a blessing to have and awesome for our school and for our program.”

Houser said the weight room is about 90 to 95 percent complete. He said they are working to add entertainment equipment, such as speakers for music and screens to better facilitate workout programs.

Houser said P.E. students and the football team have already begun using the facility. He said the students have given a positive response.

“We’re really lucky here at Livingston Academy to have the support of our district and our school board and our director of schools Donnie Holman,” Houser said. “This is a great thing for us to be able to have for our students and all of our programs.”
