Livingston Applying For TVA Grant For Industrial Site Development

Livingston applying for a grant through the TVA that will help with upgrades at the industrial park.

Consultant Ray Evans said the improvements will be on the last remaining lot of the city’s industrial park. He said the tract is about 14.4 acres with about 11 acres actually developable.

“To do what’s called due diligence studies,” Evans said. “We’ll do a phase I environmental assessment, we’ll do historical analysis, we’ll do studies about endangered species. We’ll also move forward with construction documents for a 100,000 square-foot pad.”

Evans said the work will also include a parking lot that can fit about 100 cars. He said they completed the second phase of the grant application process.

Evans said the phase included an interview with TVA about the need for the project. He said he feels optimistic about the city’s possibility to be awarded the grant.

“We’ll know within the next two weeks whether we’re actually moving forward in that process,” Evans said. “And that would be that TVA and their consultants would come to Livingston and look at hte community and look at hte site and they’ll decide whether they want to fund our project or not.”
