Sparta To Replace Two HVAC Units At Civic Center

Sparta has bid out the replacement for two HVAC units at the civic center.

Public Works Director Dillard Quick said the units have come in at some $34,200. He said that cost is over budget, but the work needs to get done.

“We have some old units that are over 20 years old,” Quick said. “One of the heat exchangers is out on one of the ten-ton units, they’re both ten-ton units. It was just time to bid it out and get new units so that everyone can enjoy the heat or enjoy the cold air when it comes out.”

Quick said replacing the units should be an easy job. He said it should have minimal if any disruption to business conducted at the civic center and surrounding businesses

Quick said he does not have a timeline for the implementation of the new units. He said the bidder has been notified they can start the work, but it depends on when they can get to the Civic Center.
