Putnam Planning Considering Plat Submittal Deadline Change

Putnam Planning Commission will explore changing the deadline for developers to submit plats for consideration.

Planning Department Director Kevin Rush said the current deadline is eight days before the monthly meeting. He said he would like that deadline pushed back to the 15th day of the month to help with scheduling constraints.

“Trying to just push it back to make sure we have adequate time to review everything,” Rush said. “If something needs to be corrected we can get with a developer. We’re looking at making this effective July 1 or later.”

Rush said commissioners tabled a decision at the most recent commission meeting in order to have more time to study it. He said they will consider it again at the June planning meeting.

Rush said that if the resolution is approved, it will go into effect around July 1st. However, he said there will be a grace period up to the end of the year to allow developers time to adjust to the new deadline.
