Waffle House Coming To Algood’s Big Mac Drive

Algood Planning Commission approved the site plan for a new Waffle House off of Big Mac Drive.

The building would be some 1,848 square feet with 34 seats. City Administrator Keith Morrison said this is an exciting development for the town of Algood.

“So Big Mac Drive has been under construction now, trying to get easements so it’s kicked off and broke ground and Waffle House has now kicked off,” Morrison said. “So great things are going to happen out there, so we’re really excited. It going to be great.”

Morrison said the site plan passed the engineer’s inspection. UCDD Deputy Planner Tommy Lee said the Waffle House would be set due north of Zaxby’s. He said it would be the first parcel after the extension of Big Mac Drive is completed.

Waffle House Vice President Director of Real Estate Ken Williams said that this is a project he had been working on for three years. He said he was slowed down by the pandemic, but he is excited to get the project moving again.

“We appreciate y’all welcoming us into your town of Algood,” Williams said. “(…) We’re glad to be back.”

In other business, the planning commission also approved the site plan for the establishment of a mini-storage facility for a property located on Burton Branch Road.
