McMinnville Launches New Service Request Widget For Non-Emergency Issues

City of McMinnville has a new service that allows residents to report non-emergency issues to city maintenance staff.

Mayor Ryle Chastain said citizens can use the app to report things such as potholes, water/sewer, property maintenance, stormwater/flooding, garbage, animal control, and graffiti/vandalism. He said users can discover existing problems that have been reported, and even share scenic pictures from around town.

“The resident can easily get on the SeeClickFix app, drop a pin to that location with a brief description of what’s going on,” Chastain said. “It goes to Community Development (Department) and we’re able to address these issues in real-time.”

Chastain said the service will allow for a quicker and more efficient response time. He said instead of having several phone calls coming from different people about different issues, it puts everything in one location.

Chastain said staff normally responds to requests Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm unless the issue is urgent. He said if the request is a normal priority and comes in on a holiday, weekend, or after-hours, it will be addressed on the next business day.

“We just started this and it’s very much in its infancy, but we’re hoping that’s going to make things better for the residents and the employees of the City of McMinnville alike,” Chastain said.

The app can be downloaded to a smart phone. Service requests can also be made at https://www.mcminnvilletn.gov/residents/request_for_service_report_a_problem.php?fbclid=IwAR10Ug5qDW1WwFf3yAlNeCf5o_TX5S9mKsLCzy_-qMKHGIZSkTLCPIqKvt0.
