UCDD/UCHRA Executive Committees Approve Budget For FY 24

Upper Cumberland Development District and Human Resource Agency Executive Committees approved its budget for the next fiscal year.

The Development District is projected to operate with some $10.2 million in expenditures, with a balanced budget after netting out match requirements and revenues. Chair Randy Heady said the new budget includes a cost of living adjustment for employee raises.

“Last year, in case someone was wondering, we did a pretty hefty stab at raises at the Development District and at the HRA to increase,” Heady said. “So this year they just went with a three percent across the board.”

Director Mark Farley said the only major building project for the coming year will be addressing parking issues. He said they plan to add about 40 to 45 additional parking spaces and seal the parking lot.

Farley said they also anticipate additional state appropriations but have not received the dollar amount yet. He said they project that to be close to $100,000.

“That is a one-time appropriation that the general assembly gave us as well as other development districts,” Farley said. “There’s a form of a model they’re trying to develop, so we don’t know what that dollar amount is yet, so we will have additional money coming in that we don’t have recognized. But we just don’t know what to put in there yet.”

Finance Director Ginger Stout said the Human Resource Agency’s budget is projected to have about $29.8 million in expenditures.
