CRMC’s Key Appointed To State Board

Cookeville Regional Interim CEO Buffy Key has been appointed to the Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board.

The 13-member board was created in 1990 to safeguard the health of Tennesseans. Key and the other members serve four-year terms. Key is the only hospital administrator serving on the board.

“The majority of my 32 years in healthcare I have chosen to spend involved in laboratory services,” Key said. “This is something I am passionate about, and I look forward to learning and serving the next four years on behalf of the State of Tennessee alongside other pathologists, physicians, medical laboratory personnel, clinical laboratory managers, laboratory educators, and a non-laboratory citizen.”

Key worked in laboratories in Johnson City, Cookeville and Nashville. She became interim CEO earlier this year.
