Putnam Planning Tables Decision On New Public Comment Rules

The Putnam County Planning Commission approved a preliminary plat Tuesday night for the Eller Ridge development to be built off Burgess School Road.

The eight-lot development will require two fire hydrants

Commissioners also approved the final plan for a seven-lot development at the corner of Kinniard Road and Dodson Branch Road. T-DOT approval has been given for driveways on Dodson Branch Road, but a change in the plan must still be approved.

After consideration at the last meeting, the commission also unanimously approved changes to the county’s subdivision regulations. The changes include how setbacks are measured, while adding 911 and the county road department to the approval of plats. The commission also changed the submittal deadline to the 15th day of each month.

Commission members discussed changes to the public comment rules to address the Planning Commission. New regulations enacted by legislators have local city and county boards addressing how to be best allow public input. Members decided to wait until the County Commission enacts its new rules, using those as a jumping off point for the Planning Commission.
