White Co., Crossville Reporting Strong Winds During Storms


White County EMA reporting downed trees and isolated power outages as weather conditions continue.

Deputy Director Kyle Winnett said the most-affected areas are in Mount Gilead and areas just east of Sparta. He said they are also seeing wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour.

Crossville Memorial Airport has reported seeing wind gusts up to 61 miles per hour. Cumberland County Emergency officials are reporting approximately 5,100 Volunteer Electric customers are without power centered in the western part of the county. White County reporting some 700 customers without power.

Winnett said as the storm continue through they ask residents to remain weather aware and and have multiple ways to get your weather reports.
