Warren County Individuals Wanted In Homicide Case Apprehended

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended two individuals wanted for criminal homicide and accessory.

Investigator Spencer Pryor said that the two suspects were apprehended in DeKalb County following a tip to police. Pryor said officers found a car that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle. Shortly after officers found Jonathan McPeak and Christina Wallace in a barn on the property and surrendered after being located.

“The male he’s been charged with a criminal attempt in criminal homicide so basically the state doesn’t have a statute for attempted homicide but that’s basically what happened here,” Pryor said. “And he actually got charged with aggravated assault as well and then the female got charged with accessory after the fact.”

Pryor said police issued a warrant for McPeak and Wallace following a shooting that took place at 625 Ike Adcock Road in Warren County. Pryor said after the shooting the two left the residence and were later spotted in DeKalb County before going into hiding. Pryor said it was then the Sherriff’s Department put a statement out for the public asking for further leads.

“We were told that they had left the scene, so at that time we didn’t have any leads,” Pryor said. “And then we actually got a lead that they had went to the Mapco in DeKalb County and we just needed some more leads from the public to where they had went.”

Pryor said that the first court date for McPeak and Wallace will be on Tuesday, September 26. He said that though not the most common crime in Warren County, some people would be surprised at how often crimes like this occur.

“Obviously we’re not a huge city but as far as the county it does happen more than people would think,” Pryor said. “I would say no more than ten times a year, but most of the time we see domestics and assaults and stuff like this, but we do have homicides and attempted homicides.”

Pryor said that after this date the two can ask to have a hearing in general sessions. Pryor said this will determine whether the case continues to general sessions or binds to a grand jury in circuit court.
