Spring’s Coming; Vol State Hosting Application Day Friday

Vol State is opening up Spring Semester enrollment Friday in an effort to give applicants a head start submitting paperwork.

Vice President for Economic Development in Regional Centers Nick Bishop said the school wants to help students avoid the last-minute rush to finish paperwork. Bishop said Vol State would love to see non-traditional students apply for spring classes.

“So really in the spring semester, we are targeting those individuals that maybe they are working adults 23 years of age or older which are Tennessee Reconnect eligible,” Bishop said. “Of course, Tennessee Reconnect allows individuals to attend Vol State tuition-free.”

Bishop said he encourages citizens interested in applying to stop by Vol State Cookeville or Livingston campus to ask questions. You can also apply for spring classes online.

Bishop said the application days are for many who may have started their applications or have questions to come and receive help. Bishop said applicants are required to bring a government-issued ID upon applying and transcript information.

“Transcripts, maybe proof of your high school diploma, even if you don’t have them we can help locate those or have those other schools send that information to us,” Bishop said. “We just need to know where it’s located at.”

Bishop said Vol State tries to leave the opportunity for applicants to enroll up until right before the first week of Spring classes.
