Senior And Caregiver Expo Tuesday To Help Connect Attendees With Resources

The Senior and Caregiver Expo Tuesday will connect seniors and those who care for them with important resources they need.

Nearly 60 vendors set up at the event sharing information about their services. UCDD Family Caregiver Coordinator Lynn Drew said the expo’s goal is to make sure seniors and caregivers can socialize and gather information.

“When they have a need arise they will know how to reach out and who to contact,” Drew said. “The seniors are often a vulnerable population, so we try to connect them to resources that can help assist them.”

This is the 22nd annual Senior and Caregiver Expo. Drew said the event is organized by a committee who reach out to sponsors and vendors to sponsor and attend the event. It takes place Tuesday from 8am-Noon at Cookeville Life Church.

“Come out and have a great time with us,” Drew said. “We are very appreciative of all the vendors supporting the event. We hope to see everyone. It is open and free to attend to anyone in the Upper Cumberland Region.”

The event featured a free lunch, games and prizes. It will also serve as an opportunity to bring in old prescriptions. Golf carts will be available to transport people to the door for those that need assistance.

“I’ve attended many years as a vendor for the events, so I’m excited to be attending and helping to organize the event this year,” Drew said.
