Cookeville Planning Commission Approves Rezoning For Fisk Road Property

The Cookeville Planning Commission approved the rezoning of 2210 Fisk Road from a multi-family residential to a commercial-industrial mixed-use property.

The request was submitted to allow the creation of a convenience store with a restaurant or townhomes. Community Development Director Jon Ward said the neighboring properties, both within and outside of the city limits, contain commercial-industrial projects. Ward said the request was made in the interest of making the zoning more consistent throughout the area.

The request was submitted to the Commission by Heather Bryant on behalf of Conexus Company, LLC. The property’s east, west, and north sides border the corporate city limits of Cookeville. The property consists of 1.33 acres.

Jon Ward said townhomes are permitted upon review by the Planning Commission within a multi-family residential zone, but will not be permitted in a commercial-industrial mixed-use zone with the property approved for rezoning.
