NC Man Arrested In Baxter On Armed Robbery Charges Of Cookeville Store


Putnam County Sheriffs Department apprehended a North Carolina man Wednesday wanted for questioning in the armed robbery of a Cookeville Dollar General.

Brent Anthony Holland arrested in connection with the Tuesday robbery of the East Spring Street location, as well as a bank robbery in Jackson County. Sheriffs Deputies responded to a Baxter home on Jack Lewis Road where Holland was staying. Holland attempted to flee in a vehicle and then by foot but was apprehended.

Holland has multiple outstanding arrests in North Carolina and other states, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He was jailed on $10,000 bond with a first court date December 4.

The Sheriffs Department K-9 unit and aviation division assisted in the arrest.

Cookeville Police and the FBI also involved in the arrest.
