White County High School Seniors Produce Documentary On Basketball Team

Two seniors, part of White County High School’s Warrior Media, have produced a new documentary series.

The series titled “Rebound,” follows the Warrior basketball team during last year’s postseason run. Videographer and Lead Editor Noah Cole said he and Videographer Jack Bouldin began the project in August and completed it last week. Bouldin said the story of the documentary is that of a team of underdogs who beat the odds to the surprise of everyone around them.

“Once they went on that run we just really wanted to highlight some of the key players throughout that season and how they came together when it came playoff time,” Bouldin said. “And talk to different members of the community, different coaches, different players, on what the season meant to them.”

Bouldin said the documentary will continue to release episodes during the Sparta Warriors basketball season this year. Warrior Media Advisor Candice Allen said that the students largely worked on the project outside of school hours, balancing their jobs as well.

“The documentary features more than just people inside White County High School,” Allen said. “He’s included community members, he included people that work at the score table, he included Mr. Linda Ally who has 45 years working with basketball which I think is just phenomenal.”

Bouldin said he pitched the idea to Cole, who had been lead videographer on several AV projects, and was immediately sold.

“I think we’re happy with the outcome,” Cole said. “We just wanted to give the community an insight to how some of those players and coaches went through last season. I think we did a good job connecting with our community.”

Cole said the most challenging part of the documentary was the interview process, specifically scheduling the interview. Cole said it was difficult working with the many different interviewee schedules, especially those who continued playing basketball in college. Cole said the team plans on releasing a new episode of the documentary series every two weeks.
