Algood City Council voted 3-1 Tuesday night to reappoint Walt Bradshaw as Algood’s Public Works Director.
Ruby Hawkins voted against the motion Tuesday. She said during a Monday work session that she thought the city should advertise the opening, before making a decision.
Bradshaw resigned last month, concerned that his hiring had led to discontent between City Administrator Keith Morrison and the City Council. The council voted during that meeting to change the city code, to approve Morrison’s decisions on the hiring of city department heads.
Bradshaw became Public Works Director in 2023.
