Seven Shelters Open In Overton For Storms


Overton County has opened seven emergency shelters for residents concerned about the threat of severe weather.

Chris Masiongale directs Overton/Pickett 911. He said the shelters are available through the evening for anyone who may be in a mobile home, or a shelter they are concerned about.

The shelters are located at the Allons Fire Hall, 311 Old Celina Road; Allons 911 Tower, 411 Palestine Road; Alpine Fire Hall, 2827 Jamestown Highway; Dry Hollow Fire Hall, 580 Dry Hollow Road; The Fairgrounds Fire Hall, 636 Monterey Highway in Livingston; Monroe Fire Hall, 3416 Byrdstown Highway, and the Muddy Pond Fire Hall, 3234 Muddy Pond Road.

The shelters will be open until further notice.
