The Pickett County community will say goodbye to Byrdstown Aldermen and Pickett County High School fixture Rex Tompkins Saturday.
Tompkins died Wednesday at the age of 69. He will be remembered during services at the Pickett County High School Gym Saturday beginning at 2pm. Mayor Sam Gibson, Dr. Larry Mason, John Mullinix and Dale Bouldin will speak in remembrance of Tompkins.
Tompkins served as custodian at Pickett County High School. He also worked at Wrangler Boot Company.
Visitation with family begins at 9am Saturday morning.
